Dear Readers,

We are so excited to finally share the first issue of The Key, which has been in the works for a while. When the concept first came to us one night during a summer sleepover, we spent all night giggling and dreaming up ideas that have resulted in this debut issue. We believe in dreaming big! This magazine comes from our desire to inspire young people like us to find a deeper appreciation for all aspects of the arts. With social media being so pervasive, it can be a challenge for teens to actually sit down and read something, but hopefully The Key will help spark your interest and perhaps help you embrace your individuality.

This is such a special endeavor, and we’ve had so much fun creating this issue. We are honored to have met and interviewed the fascinating people who fill our pages. We look forward to continuing to learn as we curate interview questions, style photoshoot outfits and decide which pictures make the final cut. Creating The Key has brought us so much joy, and compiling it has led us to a deeper connection and admiration for each other. We hope that you can feel our joy on each page.
